Couples/Duo Sessions

Do you offer couples/duo sessions?

❌ No, couples sessions are NOT currently offered at A Touch of Tranquility.

 

  • However, you can still experience these services with the original owner of A Touch of Tranquility in her Day Spa.

  • Contact Christina Lower to schedule a couples session at her beautiful space in Trumansburg. (located between Watkins Glen and Ithaca)

Booking & Scheduling

 

​Are walk-ins accepted?

❌ No, services are by appointment only.

  • To ensure each client receives the highest level of care, we do not accept walk-ins.

  • Please book in advance using our online booking system.

Do I need a credit card to book online?

Yes, a credit card or prepaid option is required to reserve your session.

  • Your card will not be charged unless you decide to use the card on file for payment. In the event of a no show or last minute cancellation, your card may be charged.

What’s the best way to contact you?

  • Texting/Email are preferred due to frequent in-session time.

Arrival, Location

Can I arrive early for my appointment?

Yes, please arrive no more than 10-15 minutes early, as I may be with another client.

  • Feel free to wait in the front waiting room area.

  • While you're welcome to relax a few minutes before your session, If you arrive too early, the door may be locked or I may not be available to greet you right away.

Where are you located?

Place of Peace: 1 E Pulteney St Ste 102, Corning NY 14830

  • We are located next to the Optimation Building, at the intersection of E Pulteney St and Bridge St.

  • We share an entrance and awning with the Optimation Building.

  •  Look for "Place of Peace" signage.

Parking

Is free parking available?

Free parking is available:

  • Side Street Parking

    • on either side street on Bridge St (2 hrs)

  • Parking Lot

    • in the parking lot behind the building; first 4 spots in the middle row

Accepted forms of Payment

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept:

  • Credit cards

  • Gift cards (within expiration policy)

  • HSA/FSA cards (for medical massage only)

  • Cash

  • Venmo

Did I pay upon booking? I put in my credit card info when I booked.

❌ No, generally the credit card info for booking only reserves your booking spot and is kept on file to charge in case of a no-show. You may use the card on file to pay at your convenience.

If you booked a "gifted session", which is prepaid, then yes, you have agreed to pay ahead of time. Your card will be charged the day of the appointment.​

Gratuity

Are gratuities included in pricing?

❌ Gratuities are not included in the service pricing (unless specified like in gifted sessions, medical massage, or otherwise noted in the service menu) but are always appreciated.

How much should I tip?

A 20% gratuity is customary and a thoughtful way to thank your therapist for their care and expertise.

Pricing & Refunds

Are your prices subject to change?

✔ Yes, all pricing is subject to change without notice.

  • Periodically, rates may be adjusted to keep up with inflation, cost of living, the rising costs of professional supplies, and continuing building of expertise.

  • These decisions are never made lightly. I care deeply about keeping my services accessible while also sustaining the quality and care you expect.

Do you offer refunds on services?

❌ No, all service sales are final.

  • However, if you are dissatisfied with your session, please let us know immediately so we can address your concerns.

Gift Cards

Can I still purchase gift cards?

❌ Gift cards are no longer available for purchase as of 3/15/2025.

Can I redeem my giftcard for cash?

❌ No, they cannot be redeemed for cash.

Are gift cards refundable?

❌ No, gift cards are nonrefundable.

Do gift cards expire?

Yes, gift cards have an expiration date. If you have any questions about your gift card's validity:

What do I do if I'm unsure of my Gift Card code, Gift card balance, or when it was purchased?

  • Not sure about your card’s origin? Feel free to reach out, we’re happy to help clarify.

  • We honour valid gift cards according to NYS regulations. If you have an older gift card and are unsure of the balance or expiration, please contact us and we'll do our best to assist.

  • We understand that life's circumstances change. We're committed to treating all gift card holders with kindness and respect, and we appreciate your doing the same in return. 

Gifted Sessions

How do gifted sessions work?

  • Instead of traditional gift cards, we offer Gifted Sessions, where you can pre-pay for a service in full and send it as a gift.

  • No expiration dates, and the appointment actually makes it onto the schedule. No more lost cards.

Are gifted sessions pre-paid?

✔ Yes, gifted sessions are pre-paid including gratuity, so all your recipient has to do is show up and relax. The card is not charged until the start of the session.

How do I purchase a gifted session for someone?

  • Simply book the session under "Gift a Session" on our website and enter the recipient’s name.

  • You can have the confirmation sent to yourself or directly to the recipient.

Can the recipient reschedule a gifted session?


✔ Yes! The recipient can reschedule easily by contacting us. Or, you can reschedule their appointment using the link in the confirmation text depending on who's phone number you put it under.

Do gifted sessions expire?


❌ No, gifted sessions do not expire.

  • However, they are tied to the original value at purchase, so use them sooner rather than later!​ 

  • Please do not reschedule more than 4 times before using your session.

Are gifted sessions refundable?


❌ No, all gifted session sales are final and cannot be refunded or exchanged for cash.

Allergies

Do you accommodate allergies?

✔ Yes, we take special care to accommodate allergies and sensitivities.​

  • However, we cannot guarantee a completely allergen-free environment.​

Policies for Children

Can children receive treatment?

✔ Yes,​ children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult who can give consent for their treatment.

Can I bring my child to my appointment?

❌No, to maintain a tranquil environment, children should not accompany adults during service time.

Privacy

Is my privacy protected?

✔ Yes, your privacy and comfort are our top priorities.

  • We respect your preferences and will not initiate contact first if we see you in public.

  • We will not share your personal information with anyone without your written consent.
